Job Description: Director of Materials Management AZ - Strategically plans, directs, and supervises materials management functions for 2 Hospitals. This position is responsible for the development and maintenance of cost effective procurement methods, efficient warehousing design and operations, and product specifications. The incumbent must possess a knowledge of procurement, warehousing, and inventory management involving medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and other products normally used in hospitals. The incumbent must also possess a knowledge of information systems and their application to the Materials Management function. Bachelors degree in Business, healthcare management, or related field or sufficient education/experience. Five years of highly responsible administrative experience in area of materials management, including inventory control, distribution, procurement, warehousing, budget and supply forecasting. Knowledge of national group purchasing organizations to effectively negotiate with manufacturers and distributors.
