Job Description: APRN-Oncology - This is a great new opportunity! The scope of responsibility includes the development of a survivorship care plan, the management of patients referred, the implementation, coordination and expansion of the program, the coordination of all existing integrative medicine programs and the development of a “Survivorship Panel” to assist in strategic direction and program design. The Coordinator will also be responsible for the development of clinical pathways for survivorship and the continual growth and development including the creation of Standard Operating Guidelines. Responsibilities:
Serve as the administrative and clinical coordinator. Serve as the key liaison between hospital departments, private physician practices and all stakeholders directly involved with the development, growth and evolution.
Demonstrated clinical expertise in the oncology field specifically in diagnosis, treatment and the psychosocial impact of disease on recovery.
Ability to develop, implement and manage a Survivorship Care Plan with all newly diagnosed cancer patients. Serves as a physician extender for out-patient population with regard to the direct provision of survivorship programs. Works in conjunction with a multi-disciplinary clinical team in addition to cancer patients, survivors, care givers and others. Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience. Manages projects as required to support the development of the program. Requirements: Master's degree in Nursing required. Current State of Connecticut Registered Nurse License required. Current State of Connecticut Nurse Practitioner License required. Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner from a national certifying body (ANCC-American Nurses Credentialing Center)
CPR Certification. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent clinical management skills. Minimum of two years clinical oncology nursing experience preferred.
Completion of thirty hours of education in Pharmacology for advanced practice nursing.
