Job Description: HIM Compliance Manager - CT
This mid-sized hospital located in Connecticut seeks your HIM expertise to manage the operations and staff of a busy HIM department. Reporting to the Director of Health Information Management, the Compliance Manager will direct the day to day operations in Coding, Cancer Registry, Birth Registry and Release of Information assuring compliance with State, Federal and JCAHO regulations. This includes, but is not limited to JC, CMS, ACS, HIPPA, and the HIM Compliance.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience required.
RHIA,RHIT or CCS Certification.
Qualifications
* Previous project management and supervisory experience required.
* Proficiency in the use of medical record systems and database management required.
* Knowledge of ICD-9, CPT coding systems and DRG and APC reimbursement systems required.
* Knowledge of coding compliance and HIPAA regulations required.
Key requirements - Person needs to have a well rounded HIM background including coding credentials and have experience supervising coders - Acute Care coders. Need to have in-patient, outpatient and ED background. ED background is a must. Need to understand HIPAA & release of information. Excellent compensation and benefits.
